Stamped Concrete Patios and Walks in Alsip
Why set hundreds of separate stones when one tinted, textured slab gives the look without the shifting?
Is Stamped Concrete Just Paint on a Slab?
No, and that is the first thing we explain on an estimate visit. The color runs through the concrete or is worked into its surface while it is still plastic, and the texture is physically pressed in. That means the slab underneath has to be built every bit as carefully as a plain one: excavation to firm soil, a compacted gravel bed, the right thickness and joints planned in advance. The decorative work happens on top of that foundation. Once the concrete is placed and leveled, a color hardener or integral tint provides the base shade. A contrasting release is spread to keep the stamping mats from sticking and to leave darker tones in the low spots, the way grout lines look on real stone. Mats go down one after the next, starting from a snapped chalk line so rows stay true. Edges get finished with hand tools. After curing, the release is washed away and a sealer goes on to deepen the color and repel water. Flagstone, ashlar slate, cobblestone, running bond brick and wood plank are all options for patios, front walks and driveway borders.

A sealer applied after washing to enrich color and shed water.
Sequence of a Stamped Pour
Choose pattern and tones
We bring samples and look at your brick, siding and roof so the colors work with the house.
Prepare and place
Excavate, compact gravel, set forms and pour the tinted concrete, then level it for stamping.
Texture and seal
Release spread, mats pressed at the right firmness, joints cut. After curing, washed and sealed.
Why Our Stamped Surfaces Read as Stone
Straight pattern runs
Mats are laid off a reference line so the texture stays square to the house.
Two-tone depth
Base color plus a contrasting release gives the shading real stone has.
Built like a plain slab first
Gravel, thickness and joints come before decoration, never after.
